Rancho San Antonio

The chickens are in there.

I thought my blanket needed to see them too

I find this activity very acceptable also

Beach

Went to Greyhound Rock beach and then to Pie Ranch to exercise and entertain the baby/canine contingent.
I forgot the camera, so all I have are lame iPhone photos. Sorry. At least I didn't forget the diapers/milk/food/snacks/hat/jacket/sunscreen/towel/baby toys/dog toys/poop bags/leashes/water/car keys/wallet. As well as baby and two dogs. And a husband.
Lunch.

As any good Greek, Tony likes to sunbathe on the beach.

This is a giant sandbox, guys!

Each boy with their own toy.

Hai! Throw BALL now plz!

Get out of my scenic shot, Polly!

Oh yeah! Pies!

Pie Ranch wins. Not only do they sell pies, they have a kids
play area so the parents can eat their pies in piece. Farmer Nick
finds tractors very acceptable.

Nature!

Messed up hair?
Check!
Polo shirt unbuttoned?
Check!
Coffee stains on shirt and blue jeans?
Check!
Mom walks away disgusted?
Check!

Coffee!

Mom was out of the house, so Nick was 100% supervised by Dad.

Here's what we did:

Nick and Dad drinking coffee.
 Nick says he likes Sumatran.

Nick likes Sumatran so much that he demanded a bigger cup.

Will Mom let Dad supervise Nick any more?

Art

Nick's first crayon drawing. Unassisted except for me holding the paper. Oh, and confiscating the crayon when he tried to eat it.

Truck

This is progress. Until recently, he just tried to eat it.

If you start them on watching soccer at birth, by one year old you get this:
Soccer ball, check. Vuvuzela, check, Brazilian jersey, check.

Half moon bay dining

Cheerios. Very serious business.

I took the dogs and kid to the beach. By myself. And to a restaurant after that. Somehow we all survived, although Polly did throw up a gallon of seawater all over the back of the car. And Nick got sand in his eyes and yelled. Tony was perfect as always.

Blocks

Them "parenting books" say that at age 13 months the child should be able to say two words which mean something (nope), walk (also nope), sleep through the night (sometimes also nope), and maybe stack two blocks on top of each other (yay!). By the way, stacking three blocks is an advanced skill not to be mastered until 15 months.

These are the fancy blocks. With the regular blocks, he can stack five before the whole thing explodes. Well, good, we are at least meeting and exceeding some of their arbitrary criteria.

Lunch

Nick now insists on feeding himself. It looks like this:

Here's a video:

After each meal, we have a mini-bath and a clothes change. I am considering having him eat naked.

My weekend pony

This is Dusty. I get to ride him on weekends. He is pretty much the horse version of Tony, which makes him The Best Horse Ever.
